Welcome. Play\u4e50\u5b66 (PlayLeXue) is a site for Chinese learning for children aged 3 and up (preschool to primary school) , featuring busy bags, book kits, Chinese books, workshops, reviews, and other bilingual fun.<\/p>\n<p>About me: My name is Joey, and I\u2019m a stay-at-home mum with\u00a0two boys\u00a0(Nov 2013 &#038; Dec 2018) and one cat.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>I used to be a primary school Chinese Language teacher.<\/li>\n<li>My favourite subjects in school were Chinese and Art.<\/li>\n<li>My favourite part of teaching was creating games and fun activities to help children (especially those who resist Chinese) learn.<\/li>\n<li>I love reading Kid Lit (yes, picture books!!!) and anything related to teaching.<\/li>\n<li>I\u2019m an only child, and I\u2019m married to an only child.\u00a0He is one of the co founders of <a href=\"http:\/\/tinkertanker.com\/\"><span>\u00a0<\/span>Tinkertanker<\/a>, a company that does education too, but for technology and coding. You can find many STEAM toys at their store <a href=\"https:\/\/gethacking.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"gethacking.com store\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">gethacking.com\u00a0<\/a>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>About PlayLeXue<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>I started PlayLeXue, or Play\u4e50\u5b66, as a form of self-care\u2014a\u00a0creative outlet for my stay-at-home parenting.<\/li>\n<li>\u4e50,<span>\u00a0<\/span><em>le<\/em>, means \u201cto enjoy\u201d, or \u201chappiness\u201d.<\/li>\n<li>\u5b66,\u00a0<em>xue<\/em>, means \u201cto learn\u201d.<\/li>\n<li>PlayLeXue can also mean \u201cPlay \u4e86, \u5b66\u201d, a Singlish-sounding phrase meaning \u201clearn through play\u201d. I considered \u201cPlay Already Learn\u201d, but that didn\u2019t sound very professional.<\/li>\n<li>I\u2019d like this site to help promote bilingual education.
